2027/28 Admission Arrangements for Nursery (K1) Classes 

Parents assist with the applicants for applying the “RC” to EDB  from September to November 2026 KGs process 2027/28 K1 admission applications2
EDB will generally take six to eight weeks to complete processing of the applications and issue the “RC” to eligible applicants1 by post
 
KGs inform applicants of the application result before 11 December 2026
If application is successful If application is not successful
Applicants register with one KG during the “centralised registration date” (7-9/1/2026)
By submitting the “RC” 3 and paying the registration fee $1,570		 Applicants refer to the K1 vacancy information released by EDB after the “centralised registration dates”
(from the end of January 2027)
 
KGs issue a letter of admission matters to applicants’ parent in March 2027
Applicants’ parent comes to one KG for the admission procedures in April 2027
Remarks:
  1. If parents cannot present the “RC” to the KG their child has been admitted to during the “centralised registration dates”, the KG concerned may not be able to complete the registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit an application to the EDB within the designated period.
  2. For the application, parents must hand in the following child’s documents with the application fee :
    A completed application form, birth certificate and an envelope with $2.4stamp.
  3. If an applicant is admitted after the “centralised registration dates”, he/she is still required to submit the “2025/26 RC” for registration.
【If an applicant is required to get back the “RC” from the KG with which has registered, the KG concerned will no longer reserve the place for the applicant. Normally, the registration fee paid to the KG with which the applicant has registered will not be refunded. 】
